HARTFORD, Conn. – Junior center Carlie Pogue (Cincinnati, Ohio) hit a couple of major milestones and led the University of New Hampshire women's basketball team to a couple others in a 62-57 triumph at Hartford on Saturday afternoon.
The Wildcat win clinched the first outright regular season America East championship in program history. UNH shared a league title in 1984-85.
Coach Maureen Magarity's team improved to 23-4 overall and 13-1 in America East. The Wildcats will be the top seed for the league tournament in two weeks in Portland, Maine.
The victory also matched UNH's record for most wins in a season.
Pogue had 18 points and seven rebounds in the win and reached a pair of marks. She finished the game with 1,000 points and 500 rebound for her career.
Junior forward Kat Fogarty (Westminster, Mass.) had 12 points and eight rebounds and senior guard Kristen Anderson (Greene, Maine) made four of her eight three-point shot attempts and had 12 points and five assists.

With 24 seconds to play and UNH up 59-55, Hartford's Janelle Harrison missed a long jump shot and Pogue pulled down her seventh and final rebound of the game.
Pogue became the 20th Wildcat to reach the 1,000-point mark. She is the 18th with 500 rebounds.
She is the 15th Wildcat to collect both 1,000 points and 500 rebounds.
