Jordan Honored as America East Rookie of the Week

BOSTON – Elijah Jordan (Orlando, Fla.), a freshman point guard on the University of New Hampshire men's basketball team, was named the America East Rookie of the Week on Monday.
In two road games last week – one against University of Texas of the Big XII and another against No. 8 University of Florida of the SEC as part of the PK80 tourney – Jordan averaged 10.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 30.5 minutes in running the point. He made 7 of 15 FGs (46.7%) and that included 6 of 9 (66.7%) from 3-point range.
Jordan scored a career-high 12 points at Florida on the strength of 4-for-6 shooting from 3-point range. He recorded more assists (five) than turnovers (four) last week, and that included just one turnover in 29 minutes at Florida; he had two assists and a steal vs. the Gators.
In three games this season all starts for the rookie point guard – Jordan is averaging 8.3 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 3.33 apg and 1.33 steals per game in 29.3 minutes per game.
