1/14/2017 7:18:00 PM | Women's Basketball
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – Junior forward Kat Fogarty (Westminster, Mass.) had 19 points with seven rebounds and junior guard Brittni Lai (Irvington, N.Y.) added 16 points with six assists to lead the University of New Hampshire women's basketball team to its seventh straight win, 70-62, at Binghamton University on Saturday afternoon.
The Wildcats are 3-0 in the America East Conference and at 13-3 are off to their best start to a season in 35 years. They last went 13-3 to start the 1981-82 season. The seven consecutive wins is UNH's best such mark since the 1991-92 season.
The Wildcats handed Binghamton its first league loss. The Bearcats are now 8-9 overall and 3-1 in the league.
UNH plays at Vermont on Monday at 1 p.mn.
Junior center Carlie Pogue (Cincinnati, Ohio), who saw limited time because she was in foul trouble, scored 17 points in her 18 minutes of action.

It was all Wildcats from there.
Lai made a nice drive down the middle, followed that with another and then fed Pogue for another layup. Pogue was fouled as well and added the free throw and UNH was up 65-58.
Alyssa James broke up the Wildcat string of points, but Pogue answered with two more hoops and UNH had made it an 11-2 run and was well on its way to another victory.
UNH, which leads the league in rebounding margin, did it again. The Wildcats had a 37-24 advantage on the boards.
