Piazza of Men’s Track Collects Fifth Place in the Mile at Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Junior Drew Piazza (Danvers, Mass.) of the University of New Hampshire men's track & field team placed fifth overall with a personal-best time in the mile at the Ocean State Invitational at Providence College on Friday Night.

Mile: Drew Piazza – 5^th place – 4:06.25 (Personal Record)
Mile: Brendan McCarthy – 19^th place – 4:16.38 (Personal Record)
800: William Ulrich – 7^th place – 1:53.63
800: Brett Hoerner – 16^th place – 1:55.86 (Personal Record)
800: Thomas Harter – 13^th place – 1:54.70

'Cat Facts

Piazza broke his previous personal-best time in the mile by 4.0 seconds.
McCarthy also set a career-low time in the mile by 3.01 seconds.
In just his second 800-meter race as a Wildcat, Hoerner set a personal mark by 0.28 seconds.
