The State of New Hampshire
- UNH enters Tuesday night's game with a 3-10-0 overall record that includes 2-6-0 at home and 0-5-0 in non-conference games; that includes 0-3-0 in non-conference home games.
- Last weekend, the Wildcats were swept in a home-and-home series by sixth-ranked Boston College. The Eagles skated to a 6-1 win Friday at the Whittemore Center and then prevailed 7-1 Saturday on home ice.
- The 'Cats were outshot 63-32 in the two-game series.
- New Hampshire has lost three straight games since recording back-to-back wins against Vermont (4-3, Oct. 28) and Providence College (4-3, Nov. 5).
- UNH has scored 14 goals in its three wins and 10 goals in 10 losses.

- Freshman forward Meghara McManus (Milton, Mass.) scored her fourth goal of the season last Friday against sixth-ranked Boston College. McManus has scored a goal three of the past five games.
- Freshman forward Abby Chapman (Beverly Hills, Mich.) recorded her first career point with an assist Saturday at BC.
- Freshman defenseman Tori Howran (Bancroft, Ontario) has tallied an assist two of the last three games. She recorded an assist Saturday at Boston College and previously registered her first career point with an assist vs. UConn (Nov. 6).
- Junior forward Carlee Toews (Graind Prairie, Alberta) netted her third goal of the season Saturday against the Eagles. Toews has three points (2-1-3) the past four games.
Strength of Schedule
- Seven of UNH's first eight games were against nationally-ranked teams.
- Nine of the 13 games have been vs. a Top 10 team.
- The Wildcats opened the 2016-17 season with two games at No. 8 Colgate, then played at No. 9 Boston University followed by home games against No. 3 Quinnipiac, No. 5 Boston College and No. 8 Clarkson (twice).

Stopping Shots
- UNH's goaltenders are averaging 29.0 saves per game with a breakdown of Kyra Smith at 29.4 and Hilary Cashin (Fredericton, New Brunswick) at 24.4.
- The opponents have tallied 40-plus shots three times and recorded the shot advantage in 11 of 13 games; UNH tallied a 27-23 shot advantage Oct. 15 vs. Merrimack and 32-26 vs. UConn (Nov. 6).
Platoon System
- Sophomore goaltenders Kyra Smith and Hilary Cashin have alternated starts through 13 games. Last weekend, Cashin started Friday at home vs. Boston College and Smith started between the pipes Saturday at BC.
- Last Saturday's game marked the first time this season that one goalieentered in relief of the other. Smith exited the game at 2:40 of the second period with 10 saves and four goals against; Cashin played the final 37:20 and stopped 14 of 17 shots on goal.
- Smith made 32 or more saves each of her first five games, and that included a career-high 38 saves in the season-opening 4-2 loss at No 8 Colgate and 36 saves at No. 9 Boston University. In seven games, she has a 3.45 GAA and .904 save percentage with a 1-6-0 record.
- Cashin, who saw limited action in three games last season, has a 3.19 GAA and .891 save percentage with a 2-4-0 record. In addition to her career-high 41 saves Oct. 23 vs. Clarkson, she made 32 saves (on 35 shots) in her first game of the season, a 3-1 loss at eighth-ranked Colgate (Oct. 2).
- Cashin made 21 saves vs. Merrimack to earn her first career win Oct. 15
Block That Shot
- Sophomore Jenna Rheault (Deering, N.H.) has blocked a team-high 21 shots, followed by junior Amy Schlagel (Blaine, Minn.) with 19 and Marie-Jo Pelletier (Dalhousie, New Brunswick) and Julia Fedeski (Algonquin Highlands, Ontario), both with 18.
Strong Starts
- UNH has outscored the opposition 10-8 in the first period; however, the Wildcats have been outscored 22-7 in the third period.
First Blood
- New Hampshire has a 3-3-0 record when scoring the game's first goal, and the 'Cats are winless the seven games they have fallen behind 1-0.
Etched in Stone
- UNH alum Katey Stone '89 is in her 22nd season as The Landry Family Head Coach for Harvard Women's Ice Hockey.
- She was head coach of the 2014 Olympic U.S. Women's Ice Hockey Team and UNH head coach Hilary Witt was on the bench as an assistant coach.
- Stone, the winningest coach in women's college hockey, was a captain and four-year letterwinner in both hockey and lacrosse at UNH.
- Stone was inducted into the UNH Athletics Hall of Fame in 2014 and was also honored with the NCAA Silver Anniversary Award in 2014.
Scouting the Crimson
- Harvard University (Cambridge, Mass.) enters Tuesday's game with a 1-4-0 record that includes 1-4-0 in ECAC, 1-1-0 in the Ivy League and 1-2-0 on the road.
- The Crimson is coming off two home losses this past weekend. In the first game, they pushed Princeton to OT but ended up losing 2-1. The second game was against Quinnipiac and resulted in another 2-1 loss.
- Harvard is on a four game losing streak, having last won 5-1 at Dartmouth on Oct. 23.
- Crimson senior Sydney Daniels leads the team in goals (four) and points (four), while freshman Val Turgeon has three two goals and one assist for a total of three points.
- Senior goaltender Brianna Laing splits the time with classmate Molly Tissenbaum. Laing has started three games, having lost two and won one with a save percentage of .926% and 2.35 GAA. Tissenbaum has started two games and lost both. She has a save percentage of .933% and 2.97 GAA.
- Harvard, which has not scored a first-period goal, is averaging 1.40 goals and 20.4 shots per game while allowing 2.60 goals and 36.6 shots per game.
- On special teams, the Crimson is 2/17 (11.8%) on the power play and 23/27 (85.2%) on penalty kills.
