BOSTON – The University of New Hampshire men's track and field team wrapped up competition at the three-day IC4A Championships on Sunday. The event was held on the campus of Boston University.
The Wildcats finished the weekend in 16th place out of 46 teams with 18 points. Monmouth University took first place with 58 points while Georgetown University came in second with 51 points. The University at Albany took third with 44 points while Bucknell (41) and the University of Connecticut (37) round out the top five.
After a second place finish in the distance medley relay (DMR) in Saturday's preliminaries, the Wildcats advanced to the finals of the event that took place Sunday. The squad of Kevin Greene (Silver Spring, Md.), Tanner Kent (Amherst, N.H.), Drew Piazza (Danvers, Mass.) and John Prizzi (Wyckoff, N.J.) took silver in the finals as they collectively ran a time of nine minutes, 41.45 seconds, eclipsing 2014's top result in the event. The time also earned the quartet a new school record, shattering the old time by more than six seconds. The time was also nearly 12 seconds faster than Saturday's preliminary time of 9:53.43.
