Colin Shank ’05, ‘07G joined the Athletics Development team as Director of Leadership Giving on May 13, 2024. Colin oversees all aspects of the UNH athletics annual giving program, which includes: creating effective communication strategies to reach constituents; implementing an annual solicitation calendar, including sport-specific appeals and donor-based seating/parking programs; coordinating solicitation initiatives with the annual giving team; managing a portfolio of leadership level prospects; overseeing office intern program; and working as a key member of the athletics development team.
Colin spent 20 years with the UNH men’s hockey program, including four years as the Associate Athletic Director for Hockey Operations. He also served as the primary sport administrator for the women's lacrosse program.
Shank’s primary responsibilities included the various day-to-day needs of the men’s hockey program. Specifically he handled the team's travel, meals, equipment, and supervision of student managers. Shank also assisted the coaching staff in other areas such as practices, scheduling of ice times, budgeting, and coordination with visiting teams. He was the 2005 winner of the Charles Holt Coaches’ Award for his significant contributions to the team both on and off the ice. He was one of just two non-players in UNH hockey history to be honored at the annual awards banquet. In addition, he was the 2008 President’s Award winner from the Friends of UNH Hockey.
Shank earned his graduate degree in Recreation Administration in May of 2007 and owns a B.S. degree in Kinesiology he received from UNH in 2005.
Shank is a native of Yarmouth, Maine, and resides in Portsmouth, N.H.
