Senior forward Nick Cafarelli of the UNH men' s hockey team was named a Service Credit Union Student-Athlete of the Week on Jan. 2.
Nick scored a total of three goals for three points in UNH’s games at Army West Point (Dec. 29) and at Sacred Heart University (Dec. 30). The senior forward gave the Wildcats a 4-1 lead at SHU with a power-play goal midway through the second period and struck again at 9:14 of the final frame to close the scoring in UNH’s 6-2 win. He scored the career-high two goals on two shots and had a +1 plus/minus rating.
The previous night at Army, Nick’s second-period power-play goal lifted the ‘Cats within 3-2. He finished that game with three shots and an even rating.
The UNH men’s hockey team returns to action Jan. 5 (7 p.m.) against Princeton University for Season Ticket Member Night and 2024 team calendar giveaway. The ‘Cats and Tigers face off again Jan. 6 (4 p.m.) for Alumni Day and Dollar Dogs at the Whittemore Center at Key Auto Group Complex.
