Mickenzie Larivee, a senior from Amherst, New Hampshire, was named the women’s lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week respectively, by America East on Monday afternoon.
Mickenzie led UNH to a 20-14 victory at the University of Vermont on April 20 that kept New Hampshire tied for second in the America East conference standings.
Larivee recorded a season-high seven points by matching her season bests in both goals (five) and assists (two). The senior attacker scored five goals on six shots. The five goals and seven points are tied for the highest totals by a Wildcat this season.
Larivee fueled UNH’s 11-goal first half by scoring four of the team’s first five goals. She tied the score, 1-1, at 25:51 and gave the Wildcats a 2-1 lead it would not relinquish less than three minutes later (23:05). Larivee’s next goal made it 4-1 at 19:35 and her fourth goal gave UNH a 5-1 advantage at 14:57. Her fifth tally extended the cushion to 7-2 at 10:32.
Larivee’s first assist helped the Wildcats build a 16-9 lead at 15:05 of the second half. After UVM closed within 16-13, Larivee set up a goal at 6:48 that ignited a 4-0 run to secure the win.
New Hampshire (10-5 overall, 5-1 America East) wraps up the regular season April 28 at home against No. 16 Stony Brook University. Game time for Senior Day at Wildcat Stadium is 12 p.m.
