El Shakery's Double-Double Lifts UNH to 88-83 2OT Win vs. Bryant

DURHAM, N.H. – Redshirt sophomore forward Belal El Shakery (Alexandria, Egypt) recorded game highs of 23 points and 12 rebounds to lead the University of New Hampshire men's basketball team to an 88-83 double-overtime victory over Bryant University on Tuesday night at Lundholm Gymnasium.
The 23 points were a career high for El Shakery, who made 11 of 15 field goal attempts and recorded his seventh double-double of the season in addition to finishing with a personal-best five assists and two steals.
Junior guard KiJan Robinson (Apopka, Fla.) scored 22 points. He shot 9-for-19 from the floor, including 4 of 10 from 3-point range, and added two rebounds, two assists and a steal in the win.
Junior guard Jack Graham (Smithfield, R.I.) finished with 12 points and four rebounds, and freshman guard Tyler Bike (Merrimack, N.H.) added 11 points, including the game-tying 3-pointer with 0.3 on the clock in regulation and two key free throws late in the second overtime to help seal the victory. Sophomore forward John Squire (Sausalito, Calif.) was the fifth Wildcat in double-digit points with 10.
Keegan Harvey led Bryant with 23 points and 10 rebounds, while Timofei Rudovskii added 19 points for the Bulldogs. Aaron Davis chipped in 14 points.
UNH ends the regular sesaon at 9-20 overall and 5-11 in America East, while Bryant falls to 9-21 on the season and 5-11 in the conference.

FIRST HALF
- Bike opened the scoring with a 3-pointer at 18:07 to give UNH a 3-0 lead.
- El Shakery followed with a layup at 16:53 to push the 'Cats up 5-3.
- Bryant went on a 9-0 run to take a 23-14 lead at 8:38.
- UNH chipped away at Bryant's lead later in the half as El Shakery and Squire hit back-to-back baskets to pull the Wildcats within 28-25 with 1:29 to play in the first half.
- Graham connected on a 3-pointer with 38 seconds on the clock to bring UNH within 31-28.
- Bryant's Ashley Sims hit a 3-pointer with seven seconds left to extend the Bulldogs' lead to 34-28 at halftime.
SECOND HALF
- Squire opened the second-half scoring for UNH with a layup at 18:41 to cut Bryant's lead to 34-30.
- El Shakery added a layup at 17:07 to bring the Wildcats within 35-32.
- Bryant built its largest lead of the half, 49-40, following a dunk by Aaron Davis at 12:07.
- UNH responded with a run, highlighted by back-to-back 3-pointers from Robinson at 9:23 and 8:40 to trim the deficit to 51-50.
- Robinson later connected on another 3-pointer at 4:06 to give the Wildcats their first lead of the half, 62-61.
- Bryant regained the lead with two Davis 3-pointers at 2:19 and 1:23, pushing the Bulldogs ahead 67-62.
- El Shakery cut the deficit to 67-64 with a layup at 1:07.
- Bike tied the game on a 3-pointer with 0.3 seconds remaining to send the game to overtime tied 67-67.
FIRST OVERTIME
- Both teams opened the extra period trading empty possessions as neither side was able to convert early.
- Bryant eventually broke through to take the lead midway through overtime and maintained the narrow advantage down the stretch – the visitors led 74-70 with 1:30 to play.
- Graham's layup trimmed the margin to 74-72 with 48 seconds left and then Robinson's driving layup with the score in the closing seconds to force a second five-minute extra session.
SECOND OVERTIME
- UNH controlled the second overtime period after taking an early lead and maintaining momentum on both ends of the floor.
- The Wildcats extended their advantage to as many as eight points, 86-78, midway through the extra frame following a layup from El Shakery.
- Bryant trimmed the deficit with a late 3-pointer by Rudovskii at 1:16, but UNH responded down the stretch as Bike knocked down two free throws with 20 seconds remaining to secure the 88-83 overtime victory.
UNH NOTEBOOK
- This was the first time El Shakery scored 20+ points in his career.
- Robinson matched his season high of 22 points established Jan. 3, 2026 at Vermont. His four 3-pointers also tied his season high set in that game.
- Bike finished the game a perfect 5-for-5 from the foul line; the five free throws are a career high.
GAME NOTEBOOK
- New Hampshire shot 48.6% (35-72) from the field, while Bryant shot 47.7% (31-65).
- The Wildcats scored 54 points in the paint compared to Bryant's 40.
