Six Members of Men’s Soccer Earn All-Conference Awards

Brossel and Khodri named to the All-Conference First Team
BOSTON – Graduate student captain Mattéo Brossel (Toulon, France) and senior forward Elias Khodri (Lyon, France) of the University of New Hampshire men's soccer team were named to the America East All-Conference First Team. Sophomore back Max Voigt (Oberkotzau, Germany) earned All-Conference Second Team accolades, while midfielder Xahvi DeRoza (Warwick, Bermuda), midfielder Gershom Matimano (Manchester, N.H.) and back Laurin Preuss (Kirchheim Teck, Germany) were selected to the All-Rookie Team.
Brossel was named to the first team for the second straight season. This year he has two goals and one assist for five points as he has played in 15 games with 15 starts. Over two seasons as a Wildcat he has posted two goals and three assists for seven points.
Khodri leads the team with seven goals, 15 points and three game-winning goals as he has started in all 17 matches. He was named the America East Offensive Player of the Week on Nov. 3 as he scored both UNH goals as the Wildcats defeated UMass Lowell, 2-1 on Oct. 31. Khodri is tied for third in the conference in goals and game winners, while he is fourth in points.
This is the second consecutive season that Voigt has earned All-Conference Second Team accolades. He has appeared in all 17 games with 16 starts and one assist. Last year, Voigt was also named to the All-Rookie Team.
DeRoza has recorded two goals and two assists for six points this season in 16 games with 11 starts. He is tied for second on the team in goals, assists and points. DeRoza was named the America East Rookie of the Week on Sept. 30 for scoring the game-winning goal in the 3-2 win at Binghamton on Sept. 27.
Matimano has appeared in nine games with six starts. He scored his first collegiate goal in the 3-2 win at Binghamton on Sept. 27.
Preuss has played in 15 games with 14 starts on defense. He scored his first collegiate goal in the 2-1 win versus Dartmouth on Sept. 20.
The Wildcats will play at No. 1 seed and defending national champion No. 2 nationally-ranked Vermont on Wednesday, Nov. 12 at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN+.
