Michelle Bronner (SUNY New Paltz ’92) was hired as Senior Associate Athletic Director/Senior Woman Administrator in March 2011. She joined the Wildcats after serving as Director of Compliance/SWA at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Fla. from 2005-2011. Bronner has over 15 years’ experience in collegiate administration.

As the Senior Woman Administrator, Bronner serves on the departments senior management team and is responsible for the departments compliance with Title IX and gender equity issues. In this capacity she also sits on the UNH Title IX Committee working with various campus constituents to review campus Title IX issues and provide feedback on various efforts and initiatives. She also oversees the educational efforts to student-athletes, coaches and staff. Bronner has ensured all UNH Title IX educational efforts meet the new standards as recently issued from the NCAA.

Bronner is also responsible for the oversight of the sports of men's basketball, women's gymnastics and women's lacrosse. She is currently the administrative liaison to the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL a single-sport conference). She formerly oversaw volleyball and swimming & diving.

Bronner is responsible for the administration of over $9 million dollars of athletic scholarships and administers the NCAA Student Assistant Fund. She also oversees the eligibility certification for approximately 525 student-athletes to include data collection and analysis of the NCAA’s Graduation Success Rate (GSR), the Academic Performance Program (APR), and IPEDS (Federal Graduation Rate data). In addition, she and her staff are responsible for NCAA Rules Compliance education and monitoring. These efforts are for more than 70 coaches spread over 20 sports as well as student-athletes, staff, friends of UNH athletics, and the greater UNH community.

Bronner also supervises the academic staff which has helped UNH win three straight America East Academic Cups (2015-17) and carry a graduation rate above 90%. In this capacity, Bronner helped oversee the buildout of the Watkins Center for Student-Athlete Excellence, a state of the art academic center that has allowed student-athletes to thrive.

While at UNF, Bronner oversaw and monitored the athletics department’s compliance with NCAA, Atlantic Sun Conference and University regulations. This includes areas of student-athlete welfare and eligibility, rules education for students, coaches, staff and the public as well as NCAA legislative changes. As Senior Woman Administrator, her responsibilities included senior management team duties, service on various campus committees along with developing and monitoring all of UNF’s Title IX and gender equity initiatives.

Prior to her time at UNF, Bronner served three years as Academic Advisor/Compliance Assistant at Siena College. While at Siena, she ran all aspects of the Academic Support Services including monitoring academic progress, determining continuing eligibility, coordinating community service efforts, and SAAC liaison. In the fall of 2003, she moved to the Peach Belt Conference Office to become the Director of Compliance. In this capacity, Bronner provided support to member institutions in regards to NCAA regulations, organized YES Clinics, monitored all eligibility paperwork and provided various other services as needed.

Bronner is a graduate of NACWAA/HERS Institute (2009E) and recipient of 2009 NACWAA Judith M. Sweet Commitment Award.

Personally, Bronner grew up in an Army family and has traveled the world. Born in Amberg, Germany, she graduated with a bachelor's degree in History Education from SUNY New Paltz. She spent seven years as a high school history teacher at Fountain-Fort Carson High School in Colorado and earned a master's degree in Human Performance and Exercise Science from the University of Tennessee.
