Before UNH
Gelazyte joins the Wildcats following an accomplished international swimming career in Lithuania. She attended Panevezys Kazimieras Paltarokas Gymnasium, where she ranked second in a class of 55 students and earned recognition as one of the school's top academic performers.
Competing for Panevezio Zemyna under coaches Simonas Bilis and Rita Kondrotaite, Gelazyte represented the Lithuanian National Team and gained extensive international experience. She competed at the Baltic States Swimming Championships from 2021-26, earning multiple individual and team medals, including Baltic championship and runner-up finishes. She also represented Lithuania at the Nordic Age Group Championships, earning individual silver medals and a team bronze medal.
In 2022, Gelazyte competed at the European Youth Olympic Festival, recording 11th- and 14th-place finishes, and helped Lithuania earn a bronze medal in the 4x200-meter freestyle relay at the Multinations Youth Swimming Meet.
At the national level, Gelazyte accumulated numerous podium finishes at Lithuanian championships. During the 2025-26 season, she captured the Lithuanian championship in the 400 individual medley and earned medals in relay competition. She also finished as the national runner-up in the 200 butterfly and 400 individual medley.
In 2024, Gelazyte won the Lithuanian title in the 200 butterfly and added several additional national and junior national medals, including a championship in the 200 butterfly at the Lithuanian Junior Championships. Earlier in her career, she earned medals in the 200 freestyle, 200 individual medley, 400 individual medley and relay events while competing at both the senior and junior national levels.
Academic Honors
Gelazyte combined athletic success with strong academic achievement. She ranked second in her graduating class and earned top-student recognition while placing third in citywide Physics and Chemistry Olympiads. She consistently demonstrated strong academic performance throughout high school.
Personal
Born in Lithuania and raised in Panevezys, Lithuania. Daughter of Nerijus Gelazis and Jurgita Gelaziene. Has an older sister, Gabija, who studies at Vilnius University.
Gelazyte plans to study mechanical engineering at UNH and hopes to compete at the NCAA Championships while completing her degree.
Outside the pool, she enjoys painting, building LEGO sets and working with children. She cites Olympic champion Léon Marchand as her favorite athlete.
