Ethan Bare joined UNH athletics as a strength and conditioning assistant coach at the beginning of the 2023 season.
Ethan designs and implements year-round training programs for the Men's Basketball, Women's Lacrosse, and Men's and Women's Mid-distance runners, Sprinters and Jumpers. He also assists with the implementation of training for football.
Prior to joining UNH, Ethan spent two years at Tufts University. He was initially a Graduate Fellow Strength and Conditioning Coach (July 2021 to Sept. 2021) before being promoted to Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach (Sept. 2021 to Jan. 2023) and Assistant Football Coach (Aug. 2022 to Jan. 2023) working with the Tight Ends and Offensive Line. Ethan was also the internship coordinator for the strength and conditioning department as well as in charge of the day-to-day operation of the Tisch Fitness Center. As an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach Ethan designed and implemented training programs for Women's Volleyball, Men's and Women's Crew, Men's and Women's Tennis, Men's and Women's Swim and Dive, Sailing, Women's Fencing, and Men's and Women's Squash. Ethan also assisted with Football, Men's Lacrosse, Men's Ice Hockey, and Men's and Women's Basketball.
Prior to Tufts, Ethan spent time interning with the Football Strength and Conditioning Departments for Louisiana Tech (May 2022 - Aug. 2022) and Boston College (May 2021 - Aug 2021). Ethan also spent time at Robert Morris University as both an Intern (May 2020 - Dec. 2020) and Strength and Conditioning Apprentice (Jan. 2021 - May 2021). During his time as an apprentice Ethan designed and implemented programs for Men's Golf and Cheerleading, and assisting Football, Men's and Women's Lacrosse, Volleyball, Women's Basketball, Women's Soccer and Softball.
Ethan earned a master's of science in Exercise and Sports Science Concentration in Strength and Conditioning from Merrimack College in May 2022. He received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with a Concentration in Manufacturing from Geneva College. During his time at Geneva Ethan was a three-year letter winner as a Fullback for the Golden Tornados before becoming a student assistant football coach where he worked with the Running Backs and assisting in the weight room.
Ethan is certified by USA Weightlifting (level 1 Coach), American Red Cross in adult, child and baby first aid, CPR and AED, and is becoming a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
