Zalenski Wins Weight Throw, Paces Men's Track and Field's First Day at New England Championships

Six Wildcats placed in the top-five of their respective events Friday.

BOSTON — Senior thrower Caden Zalenski (Milford, N.H.) won the men's weight throw, winning the event with a 66' 0.50" throw, while Liam McGovern (North Kingstown, R.I.) (65' 4.75") finished second and Jack Washam (Nashua, N.H.) (59' 5.00") finished fourth, highlighting the men's indoor track and field team's first day at the New England Championships.

As a team, the Wildcats finished with 40 points, good for first place through the opening day.

UNH returns to action on March 7 as the indoor track and field team competes in the NEICAAA Championships at the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center in Boston, Mass.
