DURHAM, N.H. - University of New Hampshire women's basketball head coach Megan Shoniker announced the addition of four student-athletes to the 2025-26 roster. Camryn Fauria (Foxborough, Mass.), Katie Ledden (Clark, N.J.), Sophia Sabino (Rumson, N.J.), and Kassidy Thompson (Mullica Hill, N.J.) join the Wildcat basketball family.
"I am extremely excited to announce these four signees," Shoniker said. "Our staff has worked extremely hard to find players who are not just extremely talented on the basketball court, but possess the work ethic, personalities, and mindset that we want to continue to build our culture around."
Fauria, a 6-foot guard/forward, brings a wealth of America East basketball experience to the Wildcats after three seasons at Binghamton. She appeared in 90 career games with 53 starts and made a strong impact on both ends of the floor. A consistent contributor, Fauria reached double figures in scoring 10 times across her sophomore and junior campaigns and led her team in rebounding on 13 different occasions. Off the court, Fauria has been named to the AD Honor Roll each of the past two years and earned CSC Academic All-District honors this past season.
What Coach Shoniker Says
"Cam is a skilled face-up post that provides experience and leadership in a position where we need both. Cam's versatility will fit perfectly in our offense. It will help us spread the floor, as well as give us an inside finishing presence. She is tough, relentless, and fearless, which is exactly the mindset we are seeking. Her energy both on and off the court is infectious, and our staff cannot wait to work with her."
Ledden, a 6-foot guard/forward, joins the Wildcats after two seasons at the University of Rhode Island in the Atlantic 10 Conference. She appeared in 35 games for the Rams, brought energy off the bench, and has shown her ability to stretch the floor. Prior to her time at URI, Ledden had a standout career at Rutgers Prep, where she eclipsed 1,300 points and was a McDonald's All-American nominee. She was a two-time First Team All-Skyland selection and helped lead her team to a sectional championship.
What Coach Shoniker Says
"Having already had the opportunity to work with Katie, I do not believe there was another player in the portal with a better work ethic and motor than her. She is a tireless worker and has a no-quit mentality. Katie brings size and length to our roster and an ability to score in a variety of ways. She can play in transition, she's good around the basket, can post-up smaller players, and can stretch the floor to the three. With her toughness and motor, she can be an elite rebounder as well. We are glad Katie is a Wildcat!"
Sabino, a 5-foot-9 guard, brings three years of Division I experience to the Wildcats after spending the past two seasons at Bucknell and beginning her career at Fordham. She started 29 games this past season, averaging 7.2 points, 3.4 assists and 1.1 steals while playing over 30 minutes per game. Sabino reached double figures in scoring nine times and recorded four or more assists in 14 games. A Red Bank Catholic graduate, she was a four-year starter and set the program's single-season assist record.
What Coach Shoniker Says
"Soph is a high IQ guard that always makes those around her better. She can play in transition, in the half court, and is an elite ball screen reader. Soph's court vision, playmaking ability, and shooting will fit in seamlessly with the other guards we already have. Coming from a basketball family, Soph understands what it takes to win, how to compete, and brings immediate leadership to our team. What I love most about her is that she is fiercely competitive on the court but is one of the most easily likeable people off the court. We feel so lucky to have her a part of this program!"
Thompson, a 5-foot-10 guard, joins the Wildcats after spending time at Hofstra and Quinnipiac. She appeared in 35 Division I games over the past two seasons and brings good size and athleticism to the perimeter. A 2023 McDonald's All-American nominee, Thompson finished her high school career at Camden Catholic with 1,563 points, 548 rebounds, 152 steals, and 117 3-pointers, earning multiple All-South Jersey honors.
What Coach Shoniker Says
"ENERGY! Kassidy brings life to whatever room she walks into, and I believe she is an extremely important person to have as we continue to build a championship program. Kassidy is long, athletic, and versatile and another kid we can play in multiple positions both offensively and defensively. She thrives in transition, finishing around the rim, and can knock down the three. Her most underrated skill is her ability to rebound, especially on the offensive end. I am excited to pull the full potential out of Kassidy and watch her shine!"
