Rico DiMatteo Earns Hockey East Goaltender of the Week Honors

AMESBURY, Mass. – University of New Hampshire senior goaltender Rico DiMatteo (Brasher Falls, N.Y.) was named the Hockey East Stop It Goaltending Goaltender of the Week for his performance in the two-game sweep of No. 17 UMass Lowell. This is the second straight week he has earned this accolade.

DiMatteo went 2-0-0 versus the River Hawks as he made 45 saves and allowed only three goals. He posted an 1.50 goals against average and a .938 save percentage. On Friday, he made 14 saves as UNH defeated UML, 4-1, while on Saturday he recorded 31 saves as the 'Cats won 4-2. His win on Friday was the first of his UNH career.

UNH will be the No. 10 seed and play at No. 7 seed UMass Lowell in the Opening Round of the Hockey East Tournament on Wednesday, March 12 at 7 p.m. on ESPN+.
