UNH Reclaims First Place with 8-Medal Day at America East Championships

Wildcats Win Three Gold, One Silver, Four Bronze
LEXINGTON, Va. – The University of New Hampshire swimming and diving team added eight medals, including three gold, on Day 3 of the America East Championships to reclaim first place. The Wildcats now have 527 points heading into the final day of competition.
Freshman Lydia Hart (Cornwall, Ontario) continued her outstanding championship performance with a dominant win in the 200 freestyle, touching the wall in 1:47.89 to earn 20 points. Sophomore Grace Blume (Dedham, Mass.) secured the top spot in the 1-meter dive with a score of 286.60, adding another 20 points. Freshman Amelia Labno (Rosemount, Minn.) earned gold in the 100 backstroke (55.55), contributing 20 points as well.

- Junior Audrey Mahoney (Downers Grove, Ill.) also reached the podium in the 200 freestyle, taking bronze in 1:50.25 for 16 points, while Labno finished seventh (1:52.59) for 12 points.
- Freshman Lily Jackson-Oates (Redhill, England) earned a third-place finish in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:23.86, adding 16 points. Freshman Teagen Jeffers (Bedford, N.H.) followed in fourth place (4:24.22, 15 points), while senior Grace Sala (Sun Prairie, Wis.) secured seventh place in 4:28.01 for 12 points.
- Sophomore Grace Mahon (Orange, Conn.) added another podium finish for the Wildcats, taking bronze in the 100 butterfly for 16 points.
- Graduate student Sydney Stockwell (Hopkinton, N.H.) took fifth in the 100 backstroke with a time of 56.51, earning 14 points points.
- Sophomore Emily Wright (Ventura, Calif.) finished seventh in the 100 breaststroke, clocking in at 1:03.57 to earn 12 points.
- In the 1-meter dive, Blume's first-place performance was complemented by senior Emma Clarke's (Avon, N.Y.) third-place finish (248.05) for 16 points, and senior Ana O'Neil's (St. Paul, Minn.) fifth-place score of 228.55 for 14 points.
- The 400 medley relay team of Labno, Wright, Mahon, and Mahoney ended the night on a high note, securing silver with a time of 3:43.28 to contribute 34 points.

- The Wildcats return for the final day of the America East Championships on Saturday, Feb. 22, with prelims at 10 a.m. and finals at 5:30 p.m. All four days of the championship are being streamed on ESPN+.
- In last year's America East Championships at the VMI Aquatic Center, the Wildcats placed second. UNH has a league-record 11 championships (1998, 1999, 2005, 2006, 2013, 2014, 2018, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023).
