BOSTON – University of New Hampshire women's basketball alumna Carlie Pogue '18 was named to the America East Women's Basketball Top 25 in 25 Years on Wednesday.
To be eligible for this distinguished list, student-athletes must have played at least two seasons in the America East conference spanning the 2000-01 to 2024-25 seasons and earned All-Conference honors at least twice. Current players were not eligible.
Pogue earned America East Player of the Year in 2017 and was a two-time All-Conference First Team selection (2017 and 2018). The 6-foot-2 center also garnered five Player of the Week awards in addition to five conference Rookie of the Week awards and a pair of ECAC Rookie of the Week honors.
Pogue ranks #4 on the program's all-time scoring leaderboard with 1,535 points and is #7 in rebounds with 735, as well as tied at #7 in blocks with 77. She was an inside-outside presence for the 'Cats who averaged 12.7 points and 6.1 rebounds in 121 career games.
In her Player of the Year campaign as a junior in 2017, Pogue led UNH with 16.6 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. She ranked second in the conference in rebounding and third in both scoring and field goal percentage (47.9%), as well as ninth in free throw percentage (73.0%).
Pogue recorded seven double-doubles that season highlighted by a 32-point, 17-rebound effort against Binghamton University that marked her single-game best in both points and rebounds. The 32 points tied for the third highest mark in America East in 2017 and the 17 rebounds ranked second. Pogue's .833 field goal percentage (10-for-12) vs. Hartford was the best single-game mark that season and she also recorded the top mark in free throws made in a game with 15 at UMBC. And the seven double-doubles – that ranked third.
Pogue scored 531 points in 2017 and that is the sixth highest single-season total in UNH women's basketball history. Her 205 field goals made ranks eighth.
She led the 2017 Wildcats to a school-record 26 wins, a 15-1 America East conference record, the team's first outright America East regular-season title, and the program's second WNIT appearance.
As a senior in 2018, Pogue was once again the Wildcats' top scorer (14.9 points per game) and rebounder (6.6 per game) to rank sixth in America East in both stats and garner All-Conference First Team recognition for the second consecutive year. She also ranked fifth in the conference in field goal percentage (.489) and seventh in free throw percentage (.711).
In her first year as a Wildcat in 2015, Pogue averaged 7.9 points and 4.9 rebounds per game. Those numbers increased to 11.0 points and 6.6 rebounds in conference-only games. As a sophomore, Pogue led the team with 22 blocks with averages of 11.0 points and 5.4 rebounds.
