Wildcats Improve to 6-0 with Win Over Rhode Island

KINGSTON, R.I. - The University of New Hampshire swimming and diving team returned to action on Saturday after more than a month away from competition. Delivering another dominant performance, UNH took first place in 13 of 16 events to defeat Rhode Island, 186-114, at Tootell Aquatics Center.
The Wildcats remain undefeated, improving to 6-0 (1-0 America East), while the Rams fall to 3-4 (1-1 Atlantic 10)

- The Wildcats opened with a win in the 200-yard medley relay, as freshman Amelia Labno (Rosemount, Minn.), sophomore Emily Wright (Ventura, Calif.), sophomore Grace Mahon (Orange, Conn.), and junior Audrey Mahoney (Downers Grove, Ill.) posted a time of 1:46.87.
- Junior Carolyn Nelson (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) won the 1,000 freestyle, finishing in 10:38.43.
- Freshman Lydia Hart (Cornwall, ON, Canada) won the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:52.57 and later claimed victory in the 500 freestyle in 4:59.68. She remains undefeated in the 500 freestyle this season.
- Wright delivered wins in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:06.11 and added another victory in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:21.77.
- Labno swept the backstroke events, taking the 100 in 58.45 seconds and the 200 in 2:06.37.
- Mahon excelled in the butterfly, earning victories in both the 100 (56.11 seconds) and the 200 (2:04.21).
- Mahoney dominated the sprints, taking first in the 50 freestyle (23.87 seconds) and the 100 freestyle (53.28).
- The 200 freestyle relay team of Mahoney, Labno, freshman Teagen Jeffers (Bedford, N.H.), and senior captain Chiara Maria Pradissitto (Milan, Italy) closed the meet in style, clocking a winning time of 1:39.11.
