Wildcats Finish Second at Commonwealth Invitational

AMHERST, Mass. – The University of New Hampshire men's track and field team traveled to UMass Amherst to compete in the Commonwealth Invitational. The 'Cats took second overall with a team score of 100 points.

Event Notebook

Senior Andrew Kelly (Portsmouth, N.H.) placed second in the high jump with a distance of 1.90m.
Sophomore Kyran Maher (Andover, Mass.) secured second in the pole vault, clearing a distance of 4.10m.
Sophomore Yoofi Abaka-Amuah (Worcester, Mass.) took first in the shot put, throwing for 16.58m. He also placed second in the discus throw with a PR distance of 47.15m.
Senior Joshua Hoffman (Litchfield, N.H.) finished first in the men's discus, throwing for 51.16m.
Sophomore Liam McGovern (North Kingstown, R.I.), senior Andrew Fleming (Acton, Mass.), and sophomore Caden Zalenski (Milford, N.H.) took first second and third in the hammer throw. The trio recorded distances of 60.43m, 57.48m, and 56.18m respectively.
Sophomore Nathan Fletcher (Portsmouth, N.H.) finished first in the 400m dash, clocking in at 50.07.
Junior Adrian Sutton (Rochester, N.H.) took first in the 400m hurdles with a time of 54.03.

The 'Cats will return to action on Friday, April 19 when they will be competing at the George Davis Invitational, hosted by UMass Lowell!
