Isac Hedström Earns First Team All-America Honors on First Day of NCAA Championships

Hedström placed fourth in the giant slalom.
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. – Sophomore Isac Hedström (Are, Sweden) was outstanding as he placed fourth in the giant slalom to earn First Team All-America accolades on Wednesday at Steamboat Ski Resort to lead the University of New Hampshire ski team on the first day of the NCAA Championships. UNH is eighth overall out of 23 teams with 59 points.

MEN'S GIANT SLALOM RESULTS
WOMEN'S GIANT SLALOM RESULTS
The men's Alpine team placed fourth in the giant slalom with 51 points. Hedström posted a combined time of 1:45.24 for fourth, recording 31 team points and capturing the first All-America honor of his career. Graduate student Hunter Brayton (Waterville Valley, N.H.) was 13th (1:45.90) tallying 18 points. His second run of 52.88 was the third fastest. Senior Hayden Dahl (Plymouth, N.H.) was 29th (1:47.95) receiving two points.
The women's Alpine team placed 11th in the giant slalom totaling eight points. Sophomore Tilde Kandell (Leksand, Sweden) led the Wildcats at 23rd with a combined time of 1:58.48, earning eight points for the team. Junior captain Zoe Michael (Sydney, Australia) placed 31st (2:01.37), while graduate student Cassie Lieblein (Harrisburg, Pa.) was 32nd (2:01.77).
