Liam Devlin & Alex Gagne Earn Hockey East Weekly Honors

Devlin named Co-Player of the Week and Gagne Defender of the Week.
AMESBURY, Mass. – University of New Hampshire junior forward Liam Devlin (Needham, Mass.) and junior captain Alex Gagne (Bedford, N.H.) earned Hockey East weekly accolades as the Wildcats went 2-0-0 versus No. 7 Maine on Feb. 16-17. Devlin was named the Hockey East Co-Player of the Week, while Gagne was named the Army ROTC Defender of the Week.
This is the first time Devlin has won this honor, while it is his second career Hockey East weekly award as he was the Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week on Jan. 3, 2022.
This is the fourth career Hockey East weekly honor for Gagne as he also won Defender of the Week (1/8/24 & 12/12/22) and Rookie of the Week (2/21/22).
Devlin posted four goals and one assist for five points as the 'Cats swept a two-game series versus No. 7 Maine. He recorded his first career hat-trick on Friday in the 6-2 win, while he tallied one goal and one assist for two points on Saturday as UNH defeated the Black Bears, 5-2. Devlin has 11 goals and six assists for 17 points over 20 games this season.
Gagne posted two assists for two points and was outstanding defensively with a team-best 12 blocks. He was also a team-best plus five. He tallied two assists and four blocks on Friday, while he totaled eight blocks on Saturday. This season, Gagne has 10 assists for 10 points over 28 games. He is fourth in Hockey East and tied for 18th nationally with a team-leading 56 blocks.
UNH's 16-11-1 record is its best after the first 28 games of the season in 11 years when the Wildcats were 16-8-4 in 2012-13.
The No. 16 Wildcats (16-11-1, 9-8-1 Hockey East) return to action for a home-and-home series with No. 14 UMass (16-9-3, 9-7-2 Hockey East) on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 23-24, at 7 p.m. on ESPN+. Friday is at the Mullins Center, while on Saturday UNH will take on the Minutemen at the Whittemore Center at Key Auto Group Complex on STEM Night presented by Breezeline. There will also be postgame autographs.
