SOUTH EGREMONT, Mass. – Sophomore Isac Hedström (Are, Sweden) placed second to lead the University of New Hampshire alpine ski team in the slalom NCAA Qualifier at Catamount Mountain.

Hedström recorded a combined time of 1:31.32 to finish second and earn his third career podium. Graduate student Hunter Brayton (Waterville Valley, N.H.) was the second finisher for the men's team at seventh (1:31.69), while senior captain Peder Nersnaes (Oslo, Norway) was 14th (1:32.35). Sophomore Zachary Temertzoglou (Toronto, Ontario) was the fourth Wildcat to place in the top 20 as he tied for 15th (1:32.47).

On the women's side, sophomore Tilde Kandell (Leksand, Sweden) led the 'Cats with an 11th place finish (1:33.00). Junior captain Zoe Michael (Sydney, Australia) was 12th (1:33.03) and graduate student Cassie Lieblein (Harrisburg, Pa.) was 13th (1:33.49). Junior Gaia Palamara (Verona, Italy) also recorded a top 20 result at 16th (1:33.68).

UNH returns to action Feb. 23-24 at the Middlebury Carnival for the EISA Championships/NCAA Regional.
