Luci Anderson Reaches Podium in 10K Skate on Day 2 of UVM Carnival

Women’s Nordic team finishes second.
CRAFTSBURY, Vt. – Senior captain Luci Anderson (Golden Valley, Minn.) earned a spot on the podium with a third-place finish in the 10K skate to lead the University of New Hampshire Nordic ski team on Day 2 of the Vermont Carnival.
The women's team was second in the 10K skate with 112 points and the men's team was eighth with 55 points.
UNH is currently in fifth place overall out of 14 teams after the two days of Nordic competition with 318 points. Dartmouth leads the carnival with 490 points, while Middlebury is second (385), Vermont is third (367) and Colby is fourth (320).
The Alpine events of the Vermont Carnival will take place on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 26-27 at Stowe Mountain.

RESULTS
Anderson recorded a time of 28:30 to gain 44 points for the Wildcats. Senior captain Jasmine Lyons (Ottawa, Ontario) was fourth with a time of 28:37 as she picked up 41 points. Sophomore Hattie Barker (Underhill, Vt.) secured 27 points with a 13th-place finish (29:34), while senior Lea Stabaek Wenaas (Oslo, Norway) posted a top-20 finish at 17th (29:56).
On the men's side, senior captain Seth Wyatt (Bozeman, Mont.) posted a time of 27:22 which was good for 20th. Freshman Miguel Fresco-Hanlon (Minneapolis, Minn.) earned 20 points as he placed 25th (27:38), while graduate student Charles Martell (Exeter, N.H.) was 26th tallying 19 points (27:42). Junior Eli Gore (Madison, Wis.) rounded out the scoring for the 'Cats with 16 points and a 31st-place finish (27:57).

- The Nordic and Alpine teams will both be in action on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 19-20 at the Colby Carnival. Nordic events will take place at Quarry Road and Alpine at Sugarloaf Mountain.
