Men's Basketball Announces 2023-24 Captains

DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire men's basketball team, led by Head Coach Nathan Davis has announced the program's captains for the 2023-2024 season. The captains will be graduate student forward Jaxson Baker (Phoenix, Ariz.) and senior forward Clarence Daniels (Brooklyn Park, Minn.).
"Throughout the offseason Jaxson and Clarence have earned the respect of their teammates and the coaching staff. Their experiences will be a tremendous asset to everyone in our program" said Coach Davis.
Last season, Baker played in 30 games with five starts. He ranked second on the team in blocked shots (16) and 3-pointers made (42). He was also ranked fifth on the team in total points (175).
Daniels started and played in all 30 games. He led the team in points (459), rebounding (320), field goals (165), and steals (38). He scored a career high 34 points in the team's overtime victory against Boston College on Dec. 6. He recorded a double-double in almost half of the team's games (14).
UNH opens its season on Monday, Nov. 6 when the 'Cats travel to Syracuse. The Wildcats are in Durham for the home opener on Wednesday, Nov. 8 as they welcome Curry College for a 7 p.m. tip off.
