Wildcats Finish Day One of AE Outdoor Championships

ALBANY, N.Y. – The University of New Hampshire men's track and field team competed at day one of the America East Outdoor Championships at the UAlbany Track and Field Complex Saturday afternoon for track preliminary events and field events.
RESULTS
FIELD EVENTS
Senior Andrew Fleming (Acton, Mass.) placed third in the hammer throw with a distance of 181' 11" (55.44m) on his throw. Freshman Liam McGovern (North Kingstown, R.I.) came in fourth place with a toss of 180' 10" (55.13m). Sophomore Max Rome (North Kingston, R.I.) finished in seventh place, reaching a distance of 162' 8" (49.59m).
TRACK EVENTS
Sophomore Aidan Shea (Amherst, Mass.) notched a seventh-place finish in the 1500m while senior Aidan O'Hern finished in eighth place as the pair of runners qualified to run in the finals on Sunday afternoon.
In the 400m dash preliminaries, freshman Nathan Fletcher (Portsmouth, N.H.) finished in fourth place with a time of 48.88 seconds to qualify for day two.
Junior Adrian Sutton (Rochester, N.H.) qualified to run on Sunday with a third-place finish in the 400m hurdles with a time of 54.62 seconds.

The Wildcats return to action at Shea Stadium on the campus of Army West Point for the West Point Twilight Meet on Thursday, May 11.
