Wildcats Secure Trio of Top-3 Finishes in Final Day of AE Outdoor Championships

ALBANY, N.Y. – The University of New Hampshire men's track and field team completed day two of the America East Outdoor Championships at the UAlbany Track and Field Complex Sunday afternoon.
The Wildcats finished in seventh place in the overall team standings, finishing the weekend with a total of 60 points.
RESULTS
FIELD EVENTS
Freshman Caden Zalenski (Milford, N.H.) placed fourth in the shot put with a distance of 49' 1" (14.96m).
Graduate student Kevin McGrath (Hopkinton, N.H.) placed second in the high jump after a jump-off when McGrath and Michael Marshall of Bryant tied for the top mark with a height of 6' 9.5" (2.07m).
Junior Joshua Hoffman (Litchfield, N.H.) had a throw of 173' 2" (52.78m) to finish second in the discus, tying his highest finish at the event after coming in second place at last year's AE Outdoor Championships.
With the conclusion of the decathlon events on Sunday, freshman Cameron Jacobs (Naugatuck, Conn.) finished with an overall score of 4,683 points to come in seventh place.
TRACK EVENTS
Senior Aidan O'Hern notched a fourth-place finish in the 1500m run finals with a time of 3:53.91. Sophomore Aidan Shea (Amherst, Mass.) finished right behind him in fifth place with a time of 3:54.16.
In the 400m dash finals, freshman Nathan Fletcher (Portsmouth, N.H.) finished in fourth place with a time of 48.26 seconds to set a new personal best time in the event.
Junior Adrian Sutton (Rochester, N.H.) tallied a third-place finish in the 400m hurdle finals with a time of 52.78 seconds, setting a new personal best time.
Sophomore Kevin Finn (Kennebunk, Maine) came in 10th place in the 5000m run, crossing the finish line in 15:13.08.
The team of Shea, O'Hern, freshman Samuel Hilts (Concord, N.H.), and sophomore Brayden Kearns (Deerfield, N.H.) came in sixth place in the 4x800m relay race.

The Wildcats return to action at Shea Stadium on the campus of Army West Point for the West Point Twilight Meet on Thursday, May 11.
