Ski in Eighth Place After Day 3 of NCAA Championships

Hedstrom leads Wildcats.
LAKE PLACID, N.Y. – Freshman Isac Hedstrom (Are, Sweden) recorded a 17th place finish in the slalom on Friday at Whiteface Mountain to lead the University of New Hampshire ski team on the third day of the NCAA Championships to conclude Alpine competition. UNH is eighth overall out of 22 teams with 174 points.

The women's Alpine team placed ninth in the slalom totaling 28 points. Freshman Hedda Martelleur (Uppsala, Sweden) led the Wildcats at 18th with a combined time of 1:53.64 posting 13 points for the team. Sophomore Zoe Michael (Sydney, Australia) was right behind at 19th (1:53.65) recording 12 points, while senior Lisa Olsson (Stockholm, Sweden) was 28th (2:00.89) for the Wildcats picking up three points.
The men's Alpine team was 11th in the slalom with 24 points. Hedstrom posted a combined time of 1:51.80 for 17th, recording 14 team points. Junior Peder Nersnaes (Oslo, Norway) was 25th (1:53.50) posting six points, while sophomore Mons Langaard (Oslo, Norway) was 27th (1:54.58) securing four points.

- The Wildcats will conclude the NCAA Championships on Saturday, March 11 with the 20K classic. Senior Luci Anderson (Golden Valley, Minn.), junior Jasmine Lyons (Ottawa, Ontario) and junior Lea Stabaek Wenaas (Oslo, Norway) will compete at 10 a.m., while senior Scott Schulz (Lake Placid, N.Y.) will compete at noon. Lyons placed second in the 5K classic on Thursday to earn First Team All-America accolades.
