Lyons Tallies Fourth Career All-America Accolade; UNH Places Eighth at NCAAs

Jasmine Lyons finished sixth in the 20K classic
LAKE PLACID, N.Y. – Junior Jasmine Lyons (Ottawa, Ontario) placed sixth in the 20K classic to earn Second Team All-America honors on Saturday at Mt. Van Hoevenberg to lead the University of New Hampshire ski team on the final day of the NCAA Championships.
UNH placed eighth overall in the standings out of 22 teams with 234 points. This is the third straight top 10 finish for the Wildcats as they were sixth in 2022 and ninth in 2021.
The Wildcat women's team finished fourth overall with a combined 153 points which is the best in program history.
Utah won its fourth straight NCAA championship with 526 points.
This is the fourth career All-America accolade for Lyons. She placed second in the 5K freestyle on March 9 for First Team honors, while last season she was a First Team All-American for placing third in the 15K freestyle and was on the second team for her eighth-place finish in the 5K classic. Lyons is the first Nordic skier in program history to be a four-time All-American.

RESULTS
The women's Nordic team earned a total of 49 points to place fifth in the 20K classic.
Lyons recorded a time of 102:05.3 to record 27 points for the team. Junior Lea Stabaek Wenaas (Oslo, Norway) tallied 15 points with her 16th place finish (104:08.4), while senior Luci Anderson (Golden Valley, Minn.) posted seven points for the Wildcats as she was 24th (1:06.13.8).
Senior Scott Schulz (Lake Placid, N.Y.) secured 11 points for the Wildcats for placing 20th in the 20K classic with a time of 59:17.8.
