Ski Places Fourth at St. Michael’s Carnival

JEFFERSONVILLE, Vt. – Freshman Isac Hedstrom (Are, Sweden) and sophomore Zoe Michael (Sydney, Australia) each placed seventh in the slalom on Saturday at Smugglers' Notch to lead the University of New Hampshire ski team on the last day of the St. Michael's Carnival. The Nordic events of the St. Michael's Carnival took place on Jan. 20-21 at Rikert Touring Center.
UNH placed fourth overall out of 14 teams with 677 points over the three-day Carnival. Vermont won with 1034 points, while Middlebury was second (678), Dartmouth was third (707) and Colby was fifth (519).

RESULTS
The men's team was third in the slalom with 87 points. Hedstrom led UNH as he tallied 37 points with a seventh-place finish (1:18.56). Junior Peder Nersnaes (Oslo, Norway) secured 30 points placing 11th (1:18.98), while senior Marius Solbakken (Bekkestua, Norway) recorded 20 points with a 22nd place finish (1:19.92).
The women's team placed sixth in the slalom with 64 points. Michael totaled 35 points with her seventh-place finish (1:22.11). Senior Emma Kearing (Carrabassett Valley, Maine) was 27th (1:24.26) earning 18 points, while senior McKenna Wilson (Bristol, N.H.) tallied 11 points placing 35th (1:25.75).
