Ana O’Neil & 200 Medley Relay Team Win Gold on Day 1 of America East Championships

WORCESTER, Mass. – Sophomore Ana O'Neil (St. Paul, Minn.) won the three-meter diving championship and the Wildcats captured gold in the 200 medley relay as the University of New Hampshire swimming and diving team is currently in first place after day one of the four-day America East Championships at the WPI Sports and Recreation Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
THREE-METER DIVING
O'Neil won her first career America East gold with a score of 240.30. The last time the Wildcats won an America East diving title was when Allison Stefanelli won both events at the 2020 championships.
Sophomore Emma Clarke (Avon, N.Y.) was also outstanding as she won bronze with a score of 238.50.
Both O'Neil and Clarke earn All-Conference honors for the first time in their careers.
200 MEDLEY RELAY
The 200 medley relay team of graduate student Shelby Kasse (Hoofddorp, Netherlands), senior Jamy Lum (Honolulu, Hawaii), sophomore Chiara Maria Pradissitto (Milan, Italy) and freshman Audrey Mahoney (Downers Grove, Ill.) won with a time of 1:41.38 edging out Bryant who recorded a time of 1:41.42. The Wildcats just missed breaking the school record of 1:41.34 set in 2017.
Lum won her seventh career America East relay gold and her 13th overall America East championship. She has now received All-America East accolades 19 times.
Kasse, Pradissitto and Mahoney won their first career America east titles and earned All-America East honors for the first time.
800 FREESTYLE RELAY
The team of Lum, senior Olivia Stille (Stockholm, Sweden), freshman Carolyn Nelson (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) and senior Madison Linstedt (Marion, Ohio) placed third in the 800 free relay with a time of 7:30.51 to take bronze.
Vermont won with a time of 7:23.72.
