Ski Posts Fourth Place Finish at Harvard Carnival

Isac Hedstrom led ‘Cats on Day 2.
DUBLIN, N.H. – Freshman Isac Hedstrom (Are, Sweden) placed fourth in the slalom on Saturday at Waterville Valley to lead the University of New Hampshire ski team on the final day of the Harvard Carnival.
UNH was fourth overall out of 14 teams with 668 points. Dartmouth won the Carnival with 848 points, while Vermont was second (835), Middlebury was third (707) and Harvard was fifth (538).

RESULTS
The men's Alpine team had the top team finish of the day for the Wildcats at third in the slalom with 100 points. Hedstrom was fourth (1:25.34) to earn 41 points. Junior Peder Nersnaes (Oslo, Norway) also tallied a top-10 result at ninth (1:25.65) for 31 points, while senior Marius Solbakken (Bekkestua, Norway) was also strong at 12th (1:26.16) for 28 points.
The women's Alpine team placed fifth in the slalom with 83 points. Freshman Hedda Martelleur (Uppsala, Sweden) led the Wildcats at fifth (1:33.89) posting 39 points. Sophomore Zoe Michael (Sydney, Australia) was the next Wildcat at 15th (1:35.35) for 27 points. Senior McKenna Wilson (Bristol, N.H.) totaled 17 points at 28th (1:37.00).
The women's Nordic team picked up 86 points for fourth in the relay point totals as junior Lea Stabaek Wenaas (Oslo, Norway), freshman Hattie Barker (Underhill, Vt.) and senior Luci Anderson (Golden Valley, Minn.) recorded a time of 44:29.5.
On the men's side, the team of sophomore Eli Gore (Madison, Wis.), junior Seth Wyatt (Bozeman, Mont.) and senior Scott Schulz (Lake Placid, N.Y.) had 60 points with a time of 38:20.2.

- The Wildcats return to action on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 17-18 at the Williams Carnival. Alpine will ski at Jiminy Peak, while Nordic events will be held at Prospect Mountain.
