DURHAM, N.H. – The Wildcats had the fastest time in seven of the nine events on the final day of the two-day dual meet versus CCSU as the University of New Hampshire swimming and diving team defeated Central Connecticut, 203.5-141.5 at Swasey Pool. UNH had the top performer in 15 of the 19 events over the two days.

The Wildcats improve to 2-0 on the season, while CCSU falls to 1-1.

"Overall it was a real strong weekend for us," said head coach Josh Willman. "There was some nice work on the boards from our divers and strong swims all around. It was so great to see so many friends and faculty in the stands for our family weekend!. Looking forward to resuming some hard training this week as we prepare for Siena."

RESULTS

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The 200 medley relay team of sophomore Ella Guilfoil (Fairport, N.Y.), sophomore Sophia Routzahn (Frederick, Md.), junior captain Chiara Maria Pradissitto (Milan, Italy) and sophomore Audrey Mahoney (Downers Grove, Ill.) started the day by winning the event in a time of 1:45.10 as the Wildcats just missed setting a pool record (1:44.50).
Guilfoil was strong as she also won two individual events taking the 400 IM (4:29.05) and the 500 free (5:07.54). Her time in the 500 free was a career best.
Mahoney captured the 100 free with a time of 52.91, while senior captain Abby McKinney (Westfield, N.J.) placed first in the 100 fly with a time of 57.60.
Routzahn tallied the fastest time in the 200 breast at 2.22.95.
Freshman Grace Blume (Dedham, Mass.) posted the second-best score in the three-meter diving event (229.43).
The 400 free relay team of Mahoney, McKinney, junior Annie Jencova (Waikanae, New Zealand) and Pradissitto concluded the meet by recording the quickest time at 3:33.76.
