BURLINGTON, Vt. – Freshman guard Avery O'Connor (Dedham, Mass.) scored 15 points for the Wildcats as the University of New Hampshire women's basketball team fell to UVM, 72-55, in Burlington on Saturday afternoon.

Junior guard Adara Groman (Hopkinton, Mass.) collected six rebounds for the 'Cats.

The Wildcats' record falls to 5-11 (0-4 AE) and Vermont's improves to 10-6 (2-2 AE).

FIRST QUARTER:
· The Catamounts had a quick five points to start the game, but O'Connor struck back with a deep three.
· O'Connor followed that up on the next procession with a hard driving layup to tie the game at five.

SECOND QUARTER:
· Senior forward Brooke Kane (Derry, N.H.) opened the quarter with a successful and one to give the Wildcats a 21-20 lead.
· O'Connor led the team in the first half with 10 points and four rebounds.

THIRD QUARTER:
·       The quarter opened with another successful and one for the 'Cats, this time from O'Connor.
·       Junior forward Paige Cote (Sanford, Maine) completed a clutch play in the final seconds of the quarter as she collected an offensive rebound, put it back up for two and sank her free throw on the and one opportunity.
·       In the last two minutes of the quarter, the Wildcats outscored the Catamounts 10-3.

FOURTH QUARTER:
· Freshman guard Aina Roque (Cervera, Spain) drained her first points for the 'Cats on a hard drive down the baseline to the basket.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
·       UNH had a 100% free throw percentage throughout the contest.
·       The Wildcats collected 33 rebounds compared to the Catamounts' 28.
·       UNH recorded the edge in points in the paint, 34-20.
·       The 'Cats forced 17 turnovers from UVM.
