Wildcats Welcome Incoming Class

DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire women's basketball third-year head coach Kelsey Hogan has announced the incoming freshman class for the 2022-23 season.
The Wildcats welcome Avery O'Connor (Dedham, Mass.), Esperanza Belen Morales Lopez (Bellreguard, Spain), Brielle Jetta – Lee Williams (Canton, Ohio), Karolina Andersson (Söderköping, Sweden), and Diana Eliasson (Stockholm, Sweden) to the UNH roster for the upcoming season.
"I am very excited for the 2022-2023 season and our five additions to our Wildcat family," said Hogan. "Belen, Avery, Breezie, Karolina and Diana bring great versatility to our team, which combined with our returners will greatly improve our skill and depth that is needed to compete in the America East."
O'Connor joins the Wildcats from Dedham High School in Massachusetts. The shooting guard was a 1000-point scorer, setting a Dedham High record with most points scored in a single season (577). The 6-foot guard was named the MVP of the league her senior year. O'Connor was also named first team Tri-Valley League All Star junior, sophomore and freshman year.
Esperanza Belen Morales Lopez is a transfer from Casper College. There, she was a NJCAA Region IX Championship. She was named to the all-tournament team region IX. Along with the accolade of NJCAA All-American Academic Team. Prior to her time at Casper College, she played for the Columbian national team, winning three titles with them including a U-17 and U-19 FIBA World Cup along with a U-18 FIBA South American Championship.
A native of Canton, Ohio, Williams joins the 'Cats as a 5-foot-5 point guard. The GlenOak High School alum collected multiple accolades in her junior season, including Second-Team All-Ohio Division I, First Team Northeast Inland, First Team District 4, First Team Canton Repository All Stark County, First Team All Federal League, Bluestar National Top 30 All-Star. Williams also played for the Ohio Xtreme club basketball team. In her stint with the AAU club she won the National Championship.
Andersson travels overseas to join UNH from Söderköping, Sweden. In high school, her team won the Swedish National Championship. They also won bronze in the U-19 Swedish Youth Championship. On a national level, Andersson participated in multiple training camps for U-15, U-16, U-18 and the Senior 3x3 Team.
Eliasson also comes across the pond from Stockholm, Sweden. The 5-foot-7 point/shooting guard received the Lions Scholarship from her hometown due to academic and sporting achievements. She played for the Swedish National team on their U-15, U-16 and U-18 teams. Eliasson won the Nordic Championship in 2019 with the WU16 team, along with the European Championship. In 2021, her WU18 team won the Nordic Championship again.
