DURHAM, N.H. – Senior Leah Glidden (Kittery, Maine) scored two goals to lead the University of New Hampshire field hockey team to Friday afternoon's 3-1 win against Providence College at Memorial Field.
Freshman Tasmin Cookman (Woking, England), the reigning America East Offensive Player and Rookie of the Week, recorded an assist on both of Glidden's goals and classmate Nicole Poulakis (Ajax, Ontario) scored UNH's other goal.
Senior goalkeeper Jemma Woods (Frimley, England), the reigning America East Defensive Player of the Week, made three of her four saves in the fourth quarter. PC counterpart Asia Porter stopped five shots.
UNH improves to 3-0 and PC is now 0-3.

COACH'S QUIP (UNH head coach Robin Balducci)
Very happy with today's outcome. Putting three balls in the net is really important. We also had to come from a situation where they tied it up and put a lot of pressure on us. I think those things are very important to our development as a team. I was proud of how we were able to finish out the game and get another goal to distance ourselves. I thought it was a pretty good team effort today and we had a lot of very good performances. Jules (Ohmen) had a great day for us. (Tamera) Cookman played very well. I think Jemma (Woods) came up big when we needed her, so that was really important. Teams are zeroing in on some of our very dangerous playmakers and what we're finding is that we've got more depth in our scoring. I think our strikers have been playing very, very well; putting tons of pressure on the opponents.
