Monahan bested the field of eight runners in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.81 seconds, which was .58-of-a-second ahead of the runner-up.
Monahan also ran the opening leg of UNH's 4x100m relay squad that placed third with a time of 44.08 seconds. The other legs were run by senior Emmanuel Nkounkou (Dover, N.H.), senior Jack Kennefick (Walpole, Mass.) and Kelly.
Kelly and Nkounkou took the top two spots in the high jump. Both Wildcats cleared 6 feet-3.75 inches – as did UMass Lowell's Michal Makiej – but Kelly cleared that height on his first attempt. In comparison, Nkounkou was successful on his second attempt and then Makiej on the third.
King Jr. was in first place of the javelin following the first round, bested that with a mark of 187-4 in the second round and that proved to be the winning effort in a field of seven competitors.
Nkounkou also recorded a fourth-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 21-5.5, which he recorded in the fourth of six rounds.
Junior Andrew Fleming (Acton, Mass.) was in third place through four rounds of the hammer and finished in fourth place with a mark of 179-1 that he recorded in the last of six rounds.
Senior Andrew LePage (Morrisonville, N.Y.) recorded the fastest time of 4:15.09 in Heat 2 of the 1,500m and finished in sixth place overall. LePage was in sixth place at the 300m split, but then ran a 1:08.95 split in the next quarter mile to move to the front of the pack.
Sophomore Joshua Hoffman (Litchfield, N.H.) was the top 'Cat and placed sixth in the shot put with a throw of 46-9., which he recorded in the fifth of six rounds.
