Adamy, Kennefick Highlight Day 1 at Colonial Relays

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Junior Dillon Adamy (Clinton, N.J.) and senior Jack Kennefick (Walpole, Mass.) highlighted the University of New Hampshire men's track & field results on opening day of the 56th Annual Colonial Relays at the College of William & Mary's Walter J. Zable Stadium on Friday.

Adamy, junior William Curran (Old Saybrook, Conn.) and freshman Aidan Shea (Amherst, Mass.) all raced in the University 1,500-meter run. Adamy was the fastest 'Cat with a time of 4 minutes, 0.77 seconds to place fifth in heat 3 and 26th overall among 81 competitors in the event.
Curran also ran in heat 3 and crossed the finish line in 4:05.15 to place 13th in the heat and 49th overall. Shea was clocked in a time of 4:01.35 to place 12th in the heat and 30th overall.
Kennefick crossed the finish line with a time of 57.94 seconds in heat 4 of the 400m hurdles; that was faster than his seed time of 58.12. Kennefick finished third in his heat and 26th overall.
The UNH men's track & field team has a split squad Saturday. A handful of Wildcats will compete at the Colonial Relays while the remainder of the team is home for the Wildcat Invitational I meet (11 a.m. start) at the Reggie F. Atkins Track & Field Facility.
