Lyons Headlines Four Skiers Named to EISA All-East Team

DURHAM, N.H. –UNH sophomore women's Nordic skier Jasmine Lyons (Ottawa, Ontario) was named to the All-East First Team, while junior men's Nordic skier Scott Schulz (Lake Placid, N.Y.) and graduate student men's alpine skiers Bastian Meisen (Munich, Germany) and Will Bruneau-Bouchard (Quebec City, Quebec) each earned All-East Second Team recognition from the EISA (Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association).

Lyons was EISA's No. 4 overall Nordic racer with 262 total points. She ranked No. 2 in freestyle with 180 Best-2 points, highlighted by a 10K free victory at the Dartmouth Carnival on Feb. 12 and a runner-up finish in the 10K free at the Saint Michael's Carnival on Jan. 21. Lyons' top classical result was third place in the 5K classic at Dartmouth on Feb. 11; she was ranked No. 8 in that event.

Schulz finished the season ranked No. 7 with 260 overall points. His No. 4 freestyle ranking featured runner-up results in the 20K free at the EISA Championships/UNH Carnival (Feb. 25) and the Middlebury Carnival (Feb. 19) to go along with a second-place result in the 10K free at Saint Michael's (Jan. 21). Schulz' top classic performance was third place in the 10K classic at the Dartmouth Carnival on Feb. 11.

Meisen ranked No. 6 in Best-2 overall with 198 points, including 145 in giant slalom. His GS victory at Saint Michael's on Jan. 21 headlined his No. 4 ranking in that event. Meisen's best slalom result was sixth at EISAs on Feb. 25 at Mittersill.

Bruneau-Bouchard was No. 8 in Best-2 overall with 191 points. That included a No. 6 SL ranking, highlighted by a second-place finish at the Colby Carnival on Jan. 16. His best GS placement, fourth, also took place at Colby (Jan. 14).

ABOUT UNH SKIING
•The Wildcats finished second at the 2022 EISA Championships/UNH Carnival on Feb. 25-26 at Mittersill (alpine) and Jackson XC (Nordic). That runner-up finish represented UNH's best ever at NCAA East Regionals.

NEXT UP
•This week the Wildcats will announce which skiers qualified for the 2022 NCAA Ski Championships, which are scheduled for March 9-12 at Park City Mountain Resort and Soldier Hollow Resort in Utah.
