UNH Wins Two Bronze Medals on Day 1 of New England Championships

RESULTS
ROXBURY, Mass. – The University of New Hampshire men's track and field won two bronze medals on day 1 of the New England Championships on Friday.
The Wildcats are currently in sixth place out of 11 teams with 13 points. Rhode Island leads with 63 points.
Sophomore Jeffrey Allen (Litchfield, N.H.) won bronze in the 5000-meter run with a time of 14:41.08. Senior Matthew Walker (Westerly, R.I.) placed eighth with a time of 15:31.88.
The distance medley relay team of junior William Curran (Old Saybrook, Conn.), senior Brian Genet (Merrimack, N.H.), junior Dillon Adamy (Clinton, N.J.) and junior Aidan O'Hern (Concord, N.H.) took bronze with a time of 10:12.83.
Junior Kenney McElroy (West Linn, Ore.) won the preliminary round in the 800 meters with a time of 1:56.00 to advance to the finals on Saturday.
The Wildcats will return to action on Saturday, Feb. 5 for the final day of the New England Championships.
