Wildcats Take on Vermont

UNH wins three events.
BURLINGTON, Vt. – The Wildcats won three events as the University of New Hampshire men's track and field team fell to Vermont, 87-31.
Sophomore Jeffrey Allen (Litchfield, N.H.) won the mile with a personal best time of 4:19.68, while junior Dillon Adamy (Clinton, N.J.) placed second at 4:20.29.
Freshman Aidan Shea (Amherst, Mass.) took the 3000 meters with a personal-best time of 8:54.29, while junior Forest MacKenzie (Deerfield, N.H.) was third at 8:59.95.
The Wildcats also won the 400 meter relay as the team of Francesco Maldari (Portsmouth, N.H.), senior Spenser Sawyer (Windham, N.H.), sophomore Zach Plaza (Derry, N.H.) and junior Kenney McElroy (West Linn, Ore.) posted a time of 3:35.38. UNH also placed second with a time of 3:36.35 by the team of Adamy, senior Colin Conery (Concord, N.H.), freshman Kevin Finn (Kennebunk, Maine) and junior William Curran (Old Saybrook, Conn.).
McElroy tallied a second-place finish in the 500 meters with a time of 1:08.21.
Conery was second in the 1000 meters with a time of 2:35.22.
The Wildcats will return to action on Saturday, Feb. 19, for a home meet versus UMass Lowell.
