Wildcats take the lead on Day 2 of the America East Championship

WORCESTER, Mass. - The University of New Hampshire swimming and diving team took the lead on Day 2 of the America East Championships hosted on the campus of WPI.
The Wildcats finished day two with 323.5 points and leads second-place Vermont (274) by 49.5 points, heading into the third day of competition on Saturday morning.
Senior Anna Metzler (Regensburg, Germany) took gold in the 200 IM with a mark of 1:59.04, while junior Jamy Lum (Honolulu, Hawaii) defended her America East title in the 500 free with a time of 4:51.89.
Senior Cate Wardinski (Burke, Va.) and sophomore Abby McKinney (Westfield, N.J.) finished second and third, respectively in the 50 free with times of 23.55 and 23.61 for the Wildcats.
Sophomore Keira Moon (Middleton, Mass.) finished in fourth-place in the three-meter dive with 220.35 points on the day, while freshman Emma Clarke (Avon, N.Y.) placed seventh (207.40) and sophomore Hannah Weatherby (Newtown, Conn.) earned the eighth spot (202.25).
UNH's relay team of McKinney, Wardinski, Ciara Pradissitto (Milan, Italy) and Olivia Stille (Stockholm, Sweden) placed second in the 200 free relay with a mark of 1:33.69.
The Wildcats return to action on Day 3 of the America East Championships on Saturday, February 12 from WPI at 10 a.m..
