Wildcats hold lead on Day 3 of the America East Championship

Madison Linstedt notches first career AE title in the 400 IM for the 'Cats

WORCESTER, Mass. - The University of New Hampshire swimming and diving team held its lead on Day 3 of the America East Championships hosted on the campus of WPI on Saturday.
The Wildcats finished day three with 536.5 points with a narrow four-point lead on UMBC (532.5) heading into the final day of competition on Sunday morning.
The 'Cats events on the day were headlined by junior Madison Lindstedt (Marion, Ohio), who picked up her first career America East Championship in the 400 IM with a time of 4:22.90, while her teammate Kiki Lindsay (Bend, Ore.) placed second right behind her with a mark of 4:28.18.
"We anticipated that UMBC would put up a lot of points today, but we had great performances by a lot of people like our 400," said UNH head coach Josh Willman. "IMers going 1-2 with Madison Linstedt and Kiki Lindsay. They along with others did their job today and we are prepared and looking forward to tomorrow."
Junior Jamy Lum (Honolulu, Hawaii) and freshman Maddie Fritz (Lansdale, Pa.) placed second and third in the 100 breast for the 'Cats with times of 1:02.37 and 1:02.99, respectively.
Freshman Kiersten Donnelly (Pottstown, Pa.) and junior Abby McKinney (Westfield, N.J.) finsihed fourth and fifth respectively in the 100 fly with times of 55.83 and 55.90.
Senior Anna Metzler (Regensburg, Germany), junior Olivia Stille (Stockholm, Sweden), Lum and McKinney teamed up for silver in the 400 yard medley relay (3:43.92).
The Wildcats return to action on the final day of the America East Championships on Sunday, February 13 from WPI at 10 a.m..
