Wildcats Finish Fourth in Joe Donahue Games on Friday in Boston

BOSTON - The University of New Hampshire men's track and field team place fourth at the Joe Donahue Games on Friday afternoon at the Track at New Balance.
The Wildcats finished the day with 76 points as team and finished behind UConn (172), UAlbany (116) and host Northeastern (87).
"We had a strong performance by Aidan O'Hern in the 3k, he led the way for his second straight victory of the season," said UNH head coach Robert Hoppler. "Josh Hoffman led the way In the field events with a two-foot personal record in the shot put. Zack Plaza had a nice wire to wire win in the 800."
Sophomore Zack Plaza (Auburn, N.H.) earned the victory in the 800 meter run at 1:56.54, just in front of junior Dillon Adamy (Lebanon, N.J.) at 1:56.63.
Junior Aidan O'Hern (Concord, N.H.) took the win in the 3000 meter race at 8:34.89, while sophomore Josh Hoffman (Litchfield, N.H.) finished third in the shot put with a throw of 52' 5.25".
Freshman Nathan Fletcher (Portsmouth, N.H.) earned a second-place finish in the 200 meter run with a time of 22.55.
Sophomore Brayden Kearns (Deerfield, N.H.) finished fifth in the mile with a mark of 4:16.24
UNH returns to action on Sunday, January 22 at home against Holy Cross from Paul Sweet Oval in Durham.
