Wildcats Fall 4-0 at Maine

ORONO, Maine – The University of Maine women's hockey team skated to a 4-0 victory against the University of New Hampshire on Saturday at Alfond Arena.
Grad student and captain Ava Boutilier (Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island) made 24 saves and allowed four goals before exiting the game with 15 minutes, 13 seconds remaining. Senior Nicky Harnett (Plymouth, Minn.) stopped all five shots in her relief stint.
Brooklyn Oakes made 33 saves to record the shutout while both Grace Heiting and Lilli Welcke finished with a goal and an assist.
UNH is now 1-4-0 overall and 0-2-0 in Hockey East. Maine completed the weekend sweep of the Border Battle, presented by Buffalo Wild Wings, to improve to 3-2-0, 2-0-0.

SECOND PERIOD
- The Black Bears scored three times in the second period to build a 3-0 lead.
- Heiting struck 1:35 into the frame and then Welcke struck at 6:16 to quickly transform a scoreless game into a two-goal advantage.
- Kennedy Little potted a goal at 17:45 to extend the margin to 3-0.
THIRD PERIOD
- Morgan Trimper's goal at 4:47 gave Maine a 4-0 lead and prompted Boutilier's exit from the game.
