Five alpine and four nordic skiers join the team.
DURHAM, N.H. – The UNH ski program announced that nine student-athletes have joined the program for the 2022-23 season as announced by UNH ski coordinator and head Nordic coach Cory Schwartz and head Alpine coach Brian Blank. The incoming class features five Alpine skiers and four Nordic skiers representing four nations.
Â

COACH SCHWARTZ: "Emma brings a lot of potential as she placed in the top ten at the JN's last year. Being the Maine State Champion, Emma will benefit from team training and has the potential to become a scorer for the team."

COACH SCHWARTZ: "Beth transferred to UNH and will have an immediate impact. She has international experience and looks to be one of the top skiers in the region."

COACH SCHWARTZ: "We are excited to see what Viktorie can do in races. Covid has made it hard for some countries to travel to get in needed races. We liked Viki's race video and her potential."

COACH BLANK: "Max has spent his career racing in Colorado and has been a strong skier for CU. We are happy have him in NH and I can see him having some strong results this season."
Â

COACH BLANK: " Isac can have an immediate impact on the team. He's a very strong skier, with his best results in Giant Slalom. Last season he finished fourth in the Swedish National Championship GS."
Â

COACH BLANK: "One of 3 new skiers from Sweden. Tilde is a strong skier in SL and GS. Her season last year was cut short with an injury. But with many great results early in the season, she is coming back strong and looks to make an impact this season."

COACH BLANK: "Another strong skier we've added to the team from Sweden. A stronger SL skier but did finish sixth in the Swedish National Championship GS in Are, Sweden last year."

COACH BLANK:Â "Zach has gained a lot of experience in the past couple years with the Ontario team, competing in many Nor-Ams. He has the potential to make some big jumps in the results. He finished 16th in the SL at Canadian National Championships."
The 2022 UNH Ski Team Sale is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 30, from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at the UNH Field House. Â
"We are excited with the nine skiers we added to the team," said Schwartz, now in his 41st season as Nordic head coach and 36th year coordinating the ski program. "Many are expected to step right in to score and make the NCAA Championships as we graduated strong skiers from our sixth place finish team."
