Men's Track and Field Posts Five Top-10 Finishes at Terrier Classic

RESULTS
BOSTON – The University of New Hampshire men's track and field team earned five top-10 finishes versus strong competition at the John Thomas Terrier Classic at the Track & Tennis Center at Boston University.
The Wildcats were strong in the high jump with three top eight finishes. Senior Kevin McGrath (Hopkinton, N.H.) placed third out of 16 at 6'6.75", sophomore Andrew Kelly (Portsmouth, N.H.) was fourth at 6'6.75" and senior Emmanuel Nkounkou (Dover, N.H.) was eighth at 6'2.75".
In the 60 meter hurdles, senior Michael Monahan (Tewksbury, Mass.) placed fifth out of 27 athletes. He qualified for the finals with a time of 8.31 in the prelims then placed fifth in the finals with a time of 8.32.
Sophomore Joshua Hoffman (Litchfield, N.H.) had a career-best throw of 51'3.75" in the shot put to place seventh out of 28.
Senior Patrick Brogioli (Milford, Mass.) finished 15th out of 25 in the weight throw at 48'9.50".
Senior Jack Kennefick (Walpole, Mass.) placed 25 out of 31 in the 500 meters with a career-best time of 1:08.52.
Three Wildcats competed in the 800 meters as junior Kenney McElroy (West Linn, Ore.) was 28th out of 118 with a personal best time of 1:53.05, junior Dillon Adamy (Clinton, N.J.) was 42nd with a time of 1:55.48 and senior Colin Conery (Concord, N.H.) was 56th with a time of 1:57.20.
The Wildcats will return to action when they travel to Roxbury, Mass., for the New England Championships on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 4-5.
