- Midway through the period, Nicole Kelly (Brantford, Ontario) chased down a stretch pass in the right circle and ripped a slap shot turned aside by Frankel.
- UNH went on the first power play of the game at 10:31 and Emily Rickwood (Brantford, Ontario) immediately tested Frankel with a screened shot from the right point, but the NU goalie kept the game scoreless.
- Still on the skater advantage at 12:15, UNH's Brianna Brooks (Whitby, Ontario) split a pair of Huskies' skaters in the slot but her wrister was gloved by Frankel.
- Two minutes later, Boutilier flashed the glove to deny Tessa Ward's one-timer from the slot.

- UNH went on its second power play of the game at 12:09, but four of the five attempted shots were blocked and Frankel stopped the other to preserve the home team's one-goal lead.
- In the third minute, Jada Christian (Caledon East, Ontario) intercepted the puck high in UNH's defensive zone and advanced through the neutral zone to the right circle, where her blast was stopped by Frankel. The rebound was corralled by Rickwood at the left point and she ripped a shot wide left of the cage.
