Guadarrama Voted AE Fans' Choice Player of the Year

BOSTON – Nick Guadarrama (Newington, Conn.), a sophomore forward on the University of New Hampshire men's basketball team, was voted the 2019-20 America East Fans' Choice Player of the Year.
The announcement was made Thursday following the conclusion of the voting period, which was held March 2 at 12 p.m. through March 5 at 12 p.m. Voting was conducted through the America East social media platforms.
Guadarrama leads the Wildcats in both scoring (13.1 points per game) and field goal percentage (.484), as well as offensive rebounding (68; 2.4 per game) and free throws made (62). He ranks second on the squad in six statistics: rebounding (7.2 rpg), field goals made (132), 3-point field goals made (40), 3-point field goal percentage (.374), free throws attempted (92), and minutes (31.6 per game). Guadarrama is also third in assists (69; 2.5 per game) and fourth in steals (19).
With those stats, Guadarrama is No. 4 in America East in offensive rebounding as well as No. 6 in both rebounding and field goal percentage. He is also 14th in both scoring and assists, and 16th in both minutes.
Guadarrama has played in 28 of 29 games with 25 starts. He's been UNH's top scorer in seven games and led the team in rebounding six times; he's been the top 'Cat in both of those stats four times.
The 6-foot-5, 22-poiund forward has recorded six double-doubles this season. He's topped 20 points four times and finished with double-digit rebounds seven times. Guadarrama's highlights include a career-high 28 points against College of the Holy Cross and personal best of 18 rebounds vs. Curry College.
